Through the kind connection of the US Consulate, a group of basketball loving students from PAOC Ka Chi Secondary School were invited to reflect on what basketball playing means with a screening of Ritoma, which was directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Ruby Yang on 28 June 2018. The movie looks at how modernity impacts a Tibetan village and how basketball influences life and gender norms in that community.

The screening was followed by a basketball clinic conducted by unexpected guests, including the former assistant coach with MIT Engineers Men’s Basketball Team and the team captain from Tibet! The students were thrilled to have a chance to interact with other basketball lovers from around the world!
