Running for the 6th round since its launch in 2015, English WeCan brought together more than 450 students from 54 secondary schools to complete a challenge of learning 500 vocabularies in about 100 hours in this summer!

The programme was held from 16 July to 17 August 2019 in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Students were taught by university students in small groups, through games, competitions and presentations.  They have also acquired English words through outing activities such as visiting Eslite, City’super and Harbour City. Mr Ngan Chun, member of the Advisory Committee of the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged (“PF”), Social Welfare Department, Mr David Ng, Chief Social Work Officer (Corrections), Social Welfare Department, and Project WeCan representatives also conducted a visit to the classes, together with teachers of WeCan schools on 9 August 2019 to show support to students.  PF is one of the sponsoring organisations of English WeCan.
