This summer, the annual Job Tasting Programme was held again to provide first hand work experience to senior form students from schools participating in Project WeCan.  With the kind support from 32 companies or organisations, the Programme provided close to 200 openings for students’ application, with the aim to expose students to different industries for better career planning.

Successful applicants would be assigned to different companies based on their choices and interview performance.  Students taking part in the Progrmame were grateful for the short but invaluable 2-4 week experience, as they had a chance to not only perform office routine work such as photocopying, document handling, but also joining internal and even external meetings, which would not be possible at school.  In addition to office work, the Programme also allowed students to work in a diverse range of frontline work environment, including hotels, pier, air cargo terminal and retail outlets.

I have learned many things at work and I appreciate the internship opportunity that has been provided for me. I look forward to success in learning and come back as part of the company.

I am satisfied with the programme. This is the first time I have ever worked in a real office. I have gained some valuable and useful skills in accounting, which is my interested subject area.

I become aware of my own weaknesses and the need to improve.  I also learn to manage my time and work more efficiently.
